  • Make sure you have all the equipment you need for your exam in a transparent pencil case.
  • Arrive outside your exam room at least 15 minutes before the start time identified on your timetable.
  • Check the seating plan outside the exam room to make sure there are no last minute changes. Make sure you sit in the correct seat.
  • Learn your candidate number.

  • All personal belongings, such as coats and bags etc, will not be allowed in the exam room and must be kept in the designated area or your locker.
  • If you need assistance, raise your hand – an invigilator will help.
  • If you’re too ill to attend an exam, your parent/carer must inform the school office before 8.30am on the day. You will not be permitted to sit the exam on another day, so it is recommended that you try to get a doctor’s note to the Exams Officer can try to apply for Special Consideration on your behalf.

Special Consideration

Your performance in an exam can sometimes be affected by adverse circumstance, such as recent bereavement or recent illness. Exam Boards do make allowances in certain situations providing the school has appropriate supporting evidence. Please speak to the Exams Officer, Mrs Emma Harris, as soon as possible if you think this may apply to you.

Results

Students will be able to collect their results on the morning of the results days. Students will be sent information regarding these dates and times and they will also be listed on our social media platforms. Results will only be issued to the student to whom they belong. For those students unable to collect their results in person, results will be emailed out later in the day.

 Certificates

You will be notified by school when certificates are available to collect. For students that leave the school and no longer have access to school email addresses, notifications of the dates they are available for collection will be posted on social media. Certificates for the summer exams are usually ready for collection by the beginning of December.

If you are unable to collect your certificates in person, a relative or a friend can collect them for you, please email the Exams Officer, Mrs Emma Harris, giving permission for a named individual to collect your certificates on your behalf. That person must bring photo ID with them.

Exam certificates are extremely important legal documents – please keep them safe. If you lose your certificates you will need to contact the Exam Boards directly to arrange for a replacement.

It is important to note that you would be charged for each paper for which you request a Clerical Check or a Review of Marking.

If you request Access to Scripts, you will receive a copy of your exam paper, if you wish it to be looked at by your teacher(s), you will need to approach them to do this. It will not be forwarded to your teacher(s) automatically and does not form part of the process. Please note, staff may not be able to accommodate this request ahead of the deadline for a Clerical Check / Review of Marking if insufficient notice is given.

Parent/carer email addresses are requested in relation to payment queries. Copies of exam scripts and/or results of Clerical Checks / Reviews of Marking will only be shared with candidates for data protection purposes.

A hard copy of the completed form, or an electronic copy of the completed form should be submitted to the Exams Officer in school, or via email (eharris@sandbachhigh.co.uk) no later than the deadlines stated above. For us to accept an electronic copy of the form, it must be signed by the student or sent from the student’s school email address.

As we are a cashless school, payment should be made either via Bank Transfer or via card machine. When paying via Bank Transfer please use the details provided in the letter below and ensure you check you have chosen the correct amount appropriate to the exam board and post-result service you require.

A card machine will be available at the school on results day, and will then be available in school from Monday 2nd September.

Once both the form and payment have been received, the Exams Officer will make the request to the exam board. Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me on eharris@sandbachhigh.co.uk.
