Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College Trustees play a vital role in supporting and overseeing the work of the school.

Trustees have many key responsibilities including overseeing school policies, the school budget and decisions regarding the curriculum.

Message from the Chair of Trustees

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you may be aware, SHSSFC has recently been granted the Leading Parent Partnership Award. (LPPA) This is a considerable feather in the school's cap and reflects a huge amount of work by staff and, in particular by Dr Weir who is the LPPA coordinator for the school and Miss Oyler, Deputy Headteacher.

SHSSFC endeavours to work in partnership with parents and carers as we believe that effective parental involvement leads to improved outcomes for pupils, with regard to progress, behaviour, and their overall experience of school life. Using the LPPA framework the school has built upon and improved its existing commitment to parental engagement.

Some of the aspects which were identified in the report include ;

effective communication with stakeholders. For example, parents and primary schools
providing a welcoming and supportive environment for families, both within school and online
lots of support for home learning. For example, PEG events, meetings with staff, tailored updates for SEND pupils
a well-structured transition process, for both joiners from primary school and for in-year joiners

The trustees have been very pleased that this award has been granted and impressed with the work and commitment which underpins it.
