Leading for Legacy
At Sandbach High School, leading for legacy means our students making decisions that have a lasting positive impact for both themselves and those around them. We aim to develop students into leaders who create meaningful change, beyond short-term goals, whether at school, in the community, or the wider world. Leading for legacy is about creating lasting value that shapes our school community and establishes aspirations for the future generation of Sandbach High School students. By fostering a sense of purpose and forward-thinking, we inspire students to build strong foundations and make choices that benefit future generations, leaving a positive mark for others to follow.
Leadership Qualities
Regardless of career ambitions, leadership skills help students reach their full potential; improving their leadership skills can boost their confidence, increase their self-esteem and can help them to be more successful in the future, not just in their chosen career but in all parts of life. At Sandbach High School, we focus on four key qualities:
- Leadership: Speaking up, taking action, and setting an example, while listening to others and knowing when to seek help.
- Organisation: Planning and prioritising tasks for success, both academically and in life.
- Resilience: Adapting to challenges, bouncing back when things go wrong, and not giving up.
- Character: Demonstrating honesty, responsibility, and respect, and always striving to do what is right.
Sandbach High School Future Leaders Programme
Our Year 7 and Year 8 students participate in the Future Leaders Programme, which builds skills beyond the classroom by encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones and try new experiences. Students complete tasks in leadership, organisation, resilience, and character, earning badges and certificates for each level—Bronze, Silver, and Gold. This programme helps prepare them for success at Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College and in their future careers.
